Waste is an escalating global problem that is costing us all dearly. Here at Custompac we have implemented a 'Waste Strategy' which aims to explore new methods of waste management; looking at the ways in which we can achieve our environmental responsibilities by cutting down on waste and making the most of the little remaining waste that we do create.

Part of our 'Waste Strategy' commitment is to help develop new markets for recycled materials, a crucial drive to increase recycling. Our Eco-Pak polystyrene loose fill is one example of how Custompac have achieved just that, by turning waste polystyrene into a top quality, inexpensive packaging product.

Public awareness of 'green issues' is also helping to increase the demand for recycled goods, championing the use of high quality recycled alternatives and providing secure markets for those wishing to invest. We are always on the lookout for further environmentally friendly and commercially viable uses for our recycled materials.

• Source Reduction - Due to the high performance cushioning of our packaging materials, only a minimum amount of material is required per package.

• Reuse - Our products can be designed to withstand multiple drops resulting in a pack that can be reused many times if required.

• Recycling - All of our packaging products can be recycled. Custompac recycles hundreds of tons of waste EPS every year.

• CFC and HCFC Free - All of our products are manufactured by CFC and HCFC free processes.

Due to a high demand for more environmentally friendly block grades we are proud to introduce for 2008 our new ECO range of block grades to complement our current grades. This range offers a variety of different densities all of which contain a high percentage of recycled material.
