A Yorkshire Soap Box Team are once again raising money for charity, by taking on the legendary Red Bull Race 2024.

What's Soap Box Racing?
Red Bull Soap Box Races are held all over the world. In a nutshell, amateur pilots race each other in hand-made, motor-less vehicles.
They’re then judged on speed, looks and ‘road-holding’ (how well it stays on the course!)






Meet The Team...

Meet Team Llama Drama: Jonny Heath, Dave Bendall, Jonno Ambler, Mark Harrison & Tim Heath, (Huddersfield based) are the only team to have competed in every single English Red Bull Soapbox Race.

From the A-team van in Roundhay Park in 2001 to Mr Funny’s shoe-car at Alexandra Palace in 2022.

Project Llama Drama!!

If you’ve got kids, (particularly tweens and grumpy teens) you’ll have heard of online computer game Fortnite. Players run around shooting each other, in a bid to be the last one standing.

There are loads of quirky characters in the game, (including a Christmas tree and banana)...

...but the team have chosen to recreate the Fortnite Battle Bus.


Why stop there though, when the bus could burst out of a Llama Piñata at the starting line?! 

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of providing the polystyrene for the team’s Soap Boxes for a few years now… then we stand back and watch something incredible emerge from the EPS!

Project Update...

After the cutting of the main structural elements, the team are now carving, papier-macheting and painting the outer shell, as well as fine tuning the internal chassis design.

    

    

  

Team Llama Drama will battle other Wacky Racers at Alexandra Palace on June 22nd.

They would be massively grateful for any donations, for their chosen charity Crisis. This is a national charity that helps homeless people, so a great cause.
